Educational Philosophy

I believe....	Therefore....
Community within the classroom is essential for growth and learning.	Students will work in teams and get to know each other using the content.
A positive relationship between student and teacher is vital for optimal learning.	I learn about my students’ interests and lives outside of the classroom.
Students learn in different ways.	I introduce and practice concepts using a variety of methods.
Students learn through authentic and meaningful experiences	I strive to bring authentic materials and situations into the classroom.
Education not only teaches students to succeed in the classroom, but in life.	I infuse life skills into the classroom such as critical thinking, problem solving and collaboration.
Students learn best when they are actively engaged in learning.	I use a variety of activities each class and give students the opportunity to move and be active.
All students should see themselves positively represented in the classroom.	My lessons and materials reflect the diversity of my students and my community.
